James Brolin Celebrates 9/11?
Barbra Streisand’s husband, James Brolin, went on a radio show in New Haven Tuesday to promote his movie, “The Hunting Party”. When hosts Chaz and AJ noted that it was the sixth anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center, James said, “Right, oh, yeah, Happy 9/11!”
Does anyone really listen to anything James Brolin says anymore? I bet two-thirds of you don’t even know what he looks like and have never seen him on television or in movies.
And you thought politics wasn’t contagious.
Kathy Griffin Worships A Statue
Vinny has a great post up at Insignificant Thoughts.
Kathy Griffin made some comments that probably offended a lot of Christians this weekend, and no one seems to have noticed. Of course, Vinny is spot on when he points out the double-standard involved and why we should all really be angry.
Lily Allen Smacks Amy Winehouse
Hahaha! Don’t you just love it when celebrities call each other out, without actually calling them out, but just making snide remarks or references to each other?
Lily Allen has taken a swipe at pop rival Amy Winehouse during a V-Festival performance in Britain, making light of the singer’s reported problems with alcohol.
The British pop star mockingly toasted the troubled singer - who entered rehab last week after collapsing from an alleged cocktail of ecstasy, cocaine, ketamine and alcohol - during her V-Festival set in Chelmsford.
Lily poured herself a shot of Jagermeister, a 70 per cent proof liqueur, and raised her glass, saying: “It’s the end of the weekend, you have got to have a drink. Here’s to Amy Winehouse… ha!”
Damn… I can’t remember why I wanted to post this. Maybe it had something to do with all the celebrities either rushing to get into drug rehab or those who make fun of them. Hmm.
Merv Griffin Isn’t Doing Well
It appears that Merv Griffin is struggling in his battle with prostate cancer.
Merv Griffin, the entertainment mogul, singer, talk-show host and horseman who has called La Quinta, Calif., home for 20 years, is in grave condition with cancer, according to media reports.
“Entertainment Tonight” has reported that sources tell the Hollywood show that Griffin’s prognosis is not good. Griffin’s representatives have not returned calls to The Desert Sun to confirm or deny.
Griffin, 82, was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles in mid-July after a recurrence of the prostate cancer he battled in 1996 was found during a routine examination.
Stop for a moment today and say a prayer for Merv.
Jump!
If this tour actually materializes, it’s one I would probably pay to see.
Van Halen fans, get ready to “Jump.” The rockers have re-formed with original frontman David Lee Roth and will set out on a national tour beginning in October, according to a report posted Wednesday on Billboard Magazine’s Web site.
In its report, the music industry trade publication said Van Halen will play 50 dates in arenas across North America.
The report coincides with a news release issued Tuesday by touring company Live Nation and Van Halen saying the band will be making “an announcement of monumental proportions” during a news conference Monday in Los Angeles.
Yes, I am old enough to have seen them the first time around.
Do Unto Others…
Jessica Alba wants to see more naked men.
“Fantastic Four” star Jessica Alba shocked fans when she demanded more male nudity in women’s magazines. The 26-year-old expressed that it is unfair that men’s magazines show nude women but women’s magazines don’t show naked men.
The actress expressed her desire for more nudity saying “Men’s magazines have nipples, so why don’t women have a magazine where men show their penises? There’s playgirl but not a fashion magazine like Elle. If there was a magazine like that I’d by it. Nudity is not a big deal to me,“ Alba told GQ.
Although Alba wants others to bare all she says she will never do it herself. “I won’t go naked in my films, because I don’t want to. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to see others,” Alba says.
She’s got a point you know. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander, right?
So ladies, what do you think?
is she right? Should there be more naked men in magazines?
Finalists Named On America’s Got Talent
I keep forgetting to watch America’s Got Talent. I mean too, I really do, but for some reason I have this mental block about setting the DVR.
I was checking out their website as well as the Springfield, Missouri News-Leader and found out that two of the top 20 finalists are from the Branson area.
Among the performers chosen Wednesday night to be the top 20 finalists on “America’s Got Talent” are two performers with ties to Branson.
The Dutton Family — parents Dean and Sheila and their six grown children — have been performing in Branson for 10 years and now own their own theater and a hotel. It’s a family effort — including Judith, Tim’s wife — on keyboards. The Duttons have appeared on other television shows and were the subject of a PBS documentary. An MSNBC commentary gave the Duttons 25-to-1 odds to win the $1 million grand prize following the final competition in Las Vegas.
Also chosen as a finalist was Gregory Popovich with his trained cats and dogs. Popovich, a former star of the Moscow Circus, came to Branson in 2001 and opened the Comedy Pet Theatre at what was then the Majestic Theatre. He performed in Branson until last spring, most recently at the Grand Country Music Hall, before leaving to perform in Las Vegas, said Grand Country Square owner Glenn Robinson. MSNBC odds for Popovich: 60-to-1.
You can learn more about the Dutton Family at their website. Meanwhile, I am going to go set the timer on the dvr right now.
