Monday Memory - Polly Holliday
Who doesn’t remember Florence Jean Castleberry? I mean, come on, she is only one of the most popular characters ever portrayed on television.
Flo was portrayed by the very talented, Polly Holliday. In addition to playing Flo on Alice and her own spinoff of the same name, Polly has also been in numerous movies and appeared in episodes of The Golden Girls and Home Improvement.
I miss hearing her telling Mel to kiss her grits. Man, those were the days. So what’s she up to now?
Polly appeared in the 2007 movie The Heartbreak Kid and she has been seen attending performances on Broadway. One thing you could never do is watch Flo with closed captioning. You had to hear her in all her Southern glory.
