Jail Time For Sutherland

Wow, the judges in Los Angeles are getting tough.

Kiefer Sutherland pleaded no contest Tuesday to a charge of driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit and will serve 30 days in county jail under terms of a plea agreement.

Attorney Blair Berk entered the plea on behalf of Sutherland, who was not present.

As part of the arrangement, Sutherland must also enroll in an 18-month alcohol-education class and attend weekly alcohol-therapy sessions for six months.

It makes you wonder though. If he was female, would he still be doing 30 days?

I wonder…. What kind of car does he drive? Does anyone know? He seems like the Mustang type to me.

Hate to break it to ya Slobokan, but he’s actually getting of REALLY light. This is his 4th DUI! This punishment is more like what one would get for a second offense. It’s partly because it’s California, and I suspect partly because of his celebrity.

In most states, your 4th DUI would mean you would NEVER drive again, and you would likely do at least 2 years in jail. First offense you lose your license for a year in many states, and will have at least a suspended jail sentence with probation, second offense requires at least some stay in the joint, and I think 5 year loss of license.

I could go on, but the point is, they aren’t cracking down at all. Sutherland is getting off light as hell.

Light by our standards, not Hollywood’s.

Could you imagine the shock celebrities would go through if they were actually subjected to the same punishments you or I would serve?

Wow.
