Scary movies. I love them, but only if they are really scary and not just gross.
One of my favorite scary movies ever is “An American Werewolf in London”. Oh man. When I went to see that movie, I was 17 years old and I lived in a small town. The movie let out after 10pm and we had to walk home (2 miles) through the desert to get home. Of course, halfway home the coyotes started howling in the distance and a light breeze began to blow. Needless to say I was scared out of my flippin’ mind. To this day, I’m not sure if it was the movie itself with it’s kewl graphics (for the time), or the walk home that did more damage to my psyche. One thing for sure, the impact of the scary movie made an impression on my young mind, and now watching them is absolutely nerve racking, but in a good way.
Anyway, Rob Zombie’s latest, Halloween the movie will be released August 31st. Take a look at the trailer.
The Halloween movies have always scared the bejesus out of me. Whether it was the original Halloween movie with Jamie Lee Curtis or the latest installment, Resurrection, they have all been good and quite scary. I am excited though, because Rob Zombie is a talented writer and director and I think he will add depth to some characters while taking others in a completely different direction. We’ll see won’t we?
One thing for sure, Halloween the movie will soon be here to haunt me again. I just hope I don’t have to walk anywhere after seeing it. Yikes!
