Not a good way to celebrate the Memorial Day weekend…

TMZ has learned that actress Mischa Barton was rushed to the hospital this evening after suffering a bad reaction to medication.

Sources tell TMZ that the former “OC” star was at a friend’s Memorial Day BBQ enjoying a few holiday cocktails when she began to feel extremely ill. Mischa, who has been quite sick with bronchitis after traveling to Cannes London and Paris the past several weeks, apparently didn’t get the memo you can’t drink alcohol while taking anti-biotics.

Don’t you find it strange that Hollywood folk never read the side of the medicine bottle before taking it?

Does anyone actually find this shocking?

Lindsay Lohan was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Saturday after her convertible struck a curb, and investigators found what they believe is cocaine at the scene, police said.

Lohan, 20, and two other people were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 when it crashed on Sunset Boulevard around 5:30 a.m., Sgt. Mike Foxen said. It appeared Lohan was speeding, Lt. Mitch McCann said at an afternoon news conference.

Officers at the scene found a “usable amount” of a drug tentatively identified as cocaine, McCann said. He declined to say where the drug was found other than to say Lohan was not carrying it.

Lohan, who spent time at a rehabilitation center earlier this year, was driven in another car to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, McCann said. The two other people in her car were not hurt.

Officers received a 911 call about the accident and arrested Lohan at the hospital for investigation of misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, McCann said.

She was released from custody because she was admitted to the hospital, police said.

They found a usable amount, but she wasn’t carrying it. Could she be innocent? (cough)

It’s bad enough when you have to fight cancer the first time, let alone having it return and trying to ward off the vultures from the tabloids.

Farrah Fawcett, who was declared cancer-free in February, discovered this week the cancer has returned, PEOPLE has confirmed.

“She was completely devastated at first,” says her close friend Craig Nevius, who produced the Chasing Farrah reality show. “And then, as is her way – as was the case the last time – she became much stronger and started dealing with it, and she’s beginning to make a plan.”

Fawcett got the news after a routine three-month checkup in which doctors discovered a malignant polyp, smaller than a pea, says Nevius.

She was still weighing her treatment options when the National Enquirer reported the cancer’s return.

“She didn’t have a chance to tell some of her family yet,” says Nevius. “It is now clear that the tabloids are as invasive and malignant as cancer.”

Get well soon, Farrah. You found the strength to beat it the first time, I have faith you can do it again.

Just when you thought Paris Hilton might be treated like any other member of society who violated their probation.

Paris Hilton will serve just over half of her 45-day jail sentence and will be separated from the general inmate population, authorities decided Wednesday after reviewing her case.

The hotel heiress will spend about 23 days in a “special needs housing unit” at the Century Regional Detention Center in suburban Lynwood, Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said.

The sentence was shortened after jail officials gave Hilton credit for good behavior, citing her recent court appearance among other factors, Whitmore said.

Hilton will stay in a unit that contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates, he said.

“She may or may not have a cellmate,” Whitmore said.

She gets time off for good behavior “just for showing up”, she gets to stay in a “special needs housing unit”, and she will be “separated from the general population”. So it’s not much unlike her current lifestyle then, is it?

When are celebrities going to be held to the same standard as everyday citizens?

What a great present, just in time for Mother’s Day.

Actress Jaime Pressly and her fiancé, Eric Cubiche, welcomed a son, Dezi James, early Friday morning at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.

The little guy weighed in at 6 pounds, 4 ounces, and is 18 1/2 inches long.

“One thing she did say when she gave me all the details is, ‘This kid is gorgeous,’ ” her rep, Megan Pope, told The ShowBuzz on Friday.

As for mom, “she’s great,” Pope said.

Congratulations to Jaime and Eric.
