Some of us are actually old enough to remember when Paula Abdul’s star was rising.

“American Idol” judge Paula Abdul canceled media interviews on Friday as an online video emerged of the television star slurring and gesticulating her way through a TV interview a day earlier.

Some viewers of the footage posted on the popular online video site YouTube.com suggested she should head into rehab because it appeared she had been drinking.

But Abdul’s spokesman, Jeff Ballard, denied that was under the influence of alcohol or on some kind of medication and said the U.S. performer never drank.

Watch the video. She sure looks like she’s under the inlfuence to me. That’s one heck of a falling star, if I ever saw one.

Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake made a cute couple, it’s a shame they couldn’t work things out.

The News of the World is reporting that Justin Timberlake is after Scarlett Johansson after finishing with Cameron Diaz in December.

The newspaper claims that Justin got to know Scarlett when she filmed the video for his forthcoming single ‘What Goes Around’.

A source told the newspaper: “Things just didn’t work out between Justin and Cameron.”

“Justin decided to end it just days before new year. It seems he wanted a fresh start for 2007. Justin did love Cameron but things don’t always work out the way you want them.”

“He’s got a tour coming up this year and wanted to concentrate on that, but it seems he’s really hit it off with Scarlett while working on the video.”

Who knows what really happened, but it’s obvious he thinks he traded up.

It’s always nice to see good people get together.

Lisa Ling, National Geographic Channel correspondent and former co-host of The View, got engaged to Paul Song, a Chicago-based doctor, over the holidays.

Ling and Song plan to marry later this year in Los Angeles, Chris Albert, a representative for the National Geographic Channel, said in an e-mail to The Associated Press on Wednesday.

The 41-year-old Song, an oncologist, popped the question to Ling, 33, alongside their families at a Chicago restaurant, Albert said.

Congratulations to the happy couple.
