Hilary Swank & Chad Lowe To Divorce

In today’s day and age, eight years is a long time for any marriage.

It’s just a shame they couldn’t work things out. They made a great couple.

There will be no happy ending for Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe. Just an ending.

The couple, who announced they were separating last January, are headed to divorce court after more than eight-and-a-half years of marriage, Swank’s camp confirmed Friday.

“Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe have jointly decided to divorce,” a statement from their attorney said, per People magazine, which broke the news. “They continue to be friends and have the utmost respect for one another.”

It’s always nice though, to see things end amicably.

Is Baby Watch 2006 Finally Over?

Finally. Can we all concentrate on something else now? Like little blinking lights on the vcr?

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are the proud parents of a baby girl they named Shiloh Nouvel, Star has learned.

The child was born the night of Saturday, May 27 in the African country Namibia where the couple have spent the last two months living with their two adopted children, Maddox, 4 and 16 month-old Zahara.

Little Shiloh arrived a week earlier than expected, according to an insider who told Star: “Angelina was originally planning to induce the baby June 3, the day before her birthday. But lately she has been feeling quite uncomfortable so she decided to have it induced early.”

Shiloh can be a name for a girl or boy. Pronounced SHYE-loh, it’s origin is Hebrew where it means God’s Gift. In the bible, it’s a prophetic name for the Messiah. And Shiloh is also the site of an important battle fought in Tennessee in the American Civil War in 1862. Nouvel is a French word that means ‘new’ in English.

Then again, it might be fun to watch her warped cross. Nah.

Rebecca Romijn, Dominatrix

I can’t say I am surprised by this news.

Rebecca Romijn has told how she loves X-rated sex - and gets turned on by playing a dominatrix. The X-Men beauty - who plays mutant Mystique in the sci-fi series - also says she’s happiest when she’s stark naked. She is quoted in News of the World newspaper as saying: “I love to be nude and I love sex.

“Being a dominatrix in the bedroom, sex in cars and in public places all turn me on. And I love fantasizing about being naked on an island with lots of other naked people.”

Wouldn’t we all be happier if she was stark naked? I know I would be.

Oops! She Did It Again.

The media is in a frenzy. She almost dropped her baby. (gasp)

Britney Spears stumbled outside a Manhattan hotel, nearly dropping her 8-month-old son and further fueling the ever-growing media scrutiny of her parenting skills.

In photos splashed across the front page and inside the New York Post on Friday, the 24-year-old pop star is shown exiting The Ritz-Carlton hotel with Sean Preston in one hand and a glass in the other.

As her bodyguards walked Spears to her car, she stumbled — her long pants apparently getting tangled in her open-toed shoes — and bent low as Sean Preston’s head flung backward, knocking off his orange hat.

Spears, though, was able to keep her balance and hold on to her son, with help from a bodyguard, who reacted quickly.

While I can understand the media interest in Britney, I cannot understand why they constantly portray her as a bad mother. Sure, she has made mistakes, but I doubt anyone can say she has been a bad mother.

Granted, I think she should take more time to properly restrain her child in the car, no matter how rushed she is. Taking that extra moment can be the difference between life and death, especially if some in the paparazzi decide to pull a Princess Diana on her.

But I must add, shehe did not drop the baby. She almost dropped him. Repeat it with me. She did not drop the baby.

Many mothers, inlcuding celebrities, must learn the hard way. How can anyone be expected to know all there is about parenting until they do it. Nothing anyone says, and no amount of reading can prepare you for it. And sometimes, shit happens.

When I was a baby, I had colic. My mother thought of dropping me (from the second floor) into a garbage bin. She didn’t. She did her best, and although I am sure she made mistakes along the way, she is an awesome mother.

So Britney had her son in one hand and a drink in the other. Who cares. Do you know how many mothers I have seen, like at the mall, who are barely holding their children, as they lean out away from their mothers and almost get their heads taken off my over-zealous shoppers rushing past?

Maybe it’s time to stop scrutinizing Britney’s every move. Maybe the paparazzi can find some other pregnant celebrity to stalk for a while.

Paul & Heather Can’t Work It Out

It’s always sad when a marriage ends, especially when children are involved, but I cannot say I am surprised. There’s just something about her that I just don’t trust. I never have.

Former Beatle Paul McCartney and his second wife Heather Mills are to separate after four years of marriage, the couple confirmed in a statement on Wednesday, blaming media intrusion into their private life.

McCartney, 63, and former model Mills, 38, who married in a lavish wedding ceremony in Ireland in June 2002, said the constant attention had made “it increasingly difficult to maintain a normal relationship”.

“Having tried exceptionally hard to make our relationship work given the daily pressures surrounding us, it is with sadness that we have decided to go our separate ways,” the statement said.

The media intrusion? They’re blaming the media intrusion into their private life? Now? There has not been a moment in the last 40 years when the media has not been intruding into the life of Paul McCartney. You’d think they could come up with a better excuse. Like the truth perhaps?

McCartney’s first marriage, which lasted 29 years, was said to be one of the happiest in showbusiness and they rarely spent a night apart. He was heartbroken by her death.

His friendship with Mills, who was born the year before Paul and Linda’s wedding, blossomed after he said she had helped him to recover from the pain of losing his first wife.

“I’m lucky to have found a good woman who is strong like Linda,” McCartney said.

Heather Mills is obviously not strong like Linda. If she was, she could weather this ‘media’ storm.

In my opinion, Linda McCartney was a class act. Heather is a cheap imitation.

Megan Mullally To Host Talk Show

Megan is such a talented performer, I am not so sure than a talk show is something she should be doing. Then again, if she mixes it up with a little song and some skits, reminiscent of the ‘old style’ talk shows, she may just be able to pull it off.

‘Will& Grace’ star Megan Mullally will he hosting her own chat show now that the hit TV sitcom has come to an end.

Mullally who played the crazy Karen Walker in the sit com is hoping that she will be able to succeed where so many other chat show hosts have failed.

According to ContactMusic, she said of her new job: “It was a weird revelation. It was like I wanted to be a cattle rancher or astronaut; it was so out of left field.”

“I’m a cockeyed optimist. I believe there’s room for everybody if you have the right intent and you’re passionate.”

Good luck Megan, I for one will be watching.

Eva Longoria Tops Hot 100

She’s definitely hot, but is she number one?

Eva Longoria snagged the No. 1 spot on Maxim’s seventh annual “Hot 100″ list of the most successful women in film, TV, music, sports and fashion — for the second year in a row.

The Desperate Housewives actress told The Associated Press of her shock. “I was actually really shocked last year when I made the list,” said the 31-year-old Longoria, who ranked No. 91 on the 2004 roster. “So 91 to No. 1 was a big jump, and then to get it a second time in a row — I just couldn’t believe it.

I was like, ‘Surely there are more beautiful women in the world.’ I can name 10.”

She says there are woman more beautiful than her. Do you think she’s right?

Faith Hill & Tim McGraw Plan Relief Concert

I used to be a huge Faith Hill fan, but I think I am one of the few people in this world who really didn’t like it when Faith Hill married Tim McGraw.

I didn’t like it because it affected her music for a long time, and I was convinced his influence would be the undoing of her career.

It is good however, seeing Faith and Tim make a commitment to the people affected by last year’s hurricanes.

Mississippi native Faith Hill and husband Tim McGraw say they plan to donate proceeds from their summer concert to benefit Gulf Coast hurricane relief.

Hill and McGraw will perform July 5 at the New Orleans Arena as part of their “South2Soul II” tour. Hill is a native of Star, Miss.; McGraw grew up in Start, La.

“We will not stop, we will not forget, we will not quit, until we see our friends, our families and our neighbors returned to the lives that they once knew,” the country singers said Thursday in a statement. “We hope to give everyone who comes out a few hours to just enjoy.”

Proceeds will go to their new Neighbor’s Keeper Foundation and other organizations assisting individuals in Mississippi and Louisiana who are suffering from the effects of Hurricane Katrina.

Half of the floor seats will be given to Katrina volunteer workers, according to the statement.

It’s nice to see stars putting their money where their mouth is.

Paris Hilton Forgets Her Lines

Was anyone truly shocked that she couldn’t remember the name of the video game? Seriously. This is Paris Hilton we are talking about here. Since when does anyone expect anything from her except sarcasm and skin?

Paris Hilton unveiled her new video game on Thursday, but inexplicably called it by the wrong name as she greeted throngs of fans and photographers.

Wearing a green minidress and red platform pumps, Hilton made a brief appearance at the Electronic Entertainment Expo to promote “Paris Hilton’s Jewel Jam.”

“Sorry I’m late,” the heiress said. “I’m really excited to have my new video game, ‘Diamondquest.’ Thank you all for coming, and you can download the game,” she said.

Oh come on. Anyone could have made that mistake. They sound so similar, I can see where she might make a mistake like that.
